Volunteer Information
We Are Seeking Volunteers for Positions at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival!
Registration is required for all volunteers.
Please note: Volunteers must be members of a guild.
Volunteer positions will be filled as commitments are received.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
QUILT-O ASSISTANT (Limit 1) Assist Pat Yamin with the Friday evening Quilt-O; assist with setting up the Quilt-O cards and organizing the prizes. The volunteer for this assignment will receive a complimentary Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival Registration or one lecture ticket.
JUDGING ASSISTANTS: Quilt & Wearable Competition (Limit 3) Assist the judging team (this may fulfill some organizations’ requirements toward judging certification). Starts with a breakfast briefing and includes a complimentary lunch. Volunteers for this assignment will receive a $65 credit to be used towards a workshop, a lecture, or other activities. Please note: If you enter this competition, you are not eligible for this volunteer position.
FASHION SHOW ASSISTANTS: (Limit 2) Duties: Press and Dress! Assist the professional fashion show coordinator in the preparation and presentation of the show. Fashion Show Assistants will receive a $45 credit to be used towards a workshop, a lecture, or other activities.
FASHION SHOW MODELS: (Limit 10) Duties: Runway modeling experience not required - it's fun! Fitting requirements: woman of any age, height and dress sizes between 8 and 16. Fitting requirements: woman of any age, height, and dress sizes between 8 and 16. Models will receive a $45 credit to be used towards a workshop, a lecture, or other activities.
EXHIBITION HOST/HOSTESS (Limit 28) Duties: Be available at designated areas of the quilts on display to assist persons who wish to “take a closer look” at a specific quilt. There are two four-hour shifts on each day - Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Volunteers will receive a $45 credit to be used towards a workshop, a lecture, or other activities for each four-hour shift they commit to during the event. Wednesday evening volunteers can choose to receive either one complimentary ticket to the Wednesday Early Bird lecture or one ticket to Quilt-O. There is a limit of two shifts per volunteer. A pair of white cotton gloves is required.
