Piece, Love Quilting Wall Hanging, Half Day

Beginners, you can do this! An inspiring easy project taught by Joyce Fischer, an award-winning quilter. You will learn tips for preparation, accuracy, organizational skills and precise piecing to complete your top. In addition, you will learn piped bindings for a dramatic finish to any project. Joyce will teach this technique with the Groovin’ Piping Trimming Tool, and supply you with practice pieces. This is a fun class, a confidence builder for beginners as well as a refresher for quilters. Beginner/Intermediate levels. Materials List: Sewing machine with a 1/4” foot and open toe foot, foot with small groove in the bottom from toe to toe (highly recommended) or zipper foot, slotted needle plate for your machine. Thread, rotary cutter, medium size cutting mat, 6” x 12” ruler and 8” or 12” square ruler. Mechanical pencil, note paper, fine straight pins, scissors, seam ripper, small iron if you have one, small ironing surface. Kit, $28 payable to instructor, includes pattern, 5 machine embroidered designs in your choice of colors (lime, red, purple, blue or pink), accent fabrics and binding. Backing and batting not included. Optional Groovin’ Piping Trimming Tool kit (includes Groovin’ tool, booklet, piping cord) available from instructor, $20. Sewing machine required.

Vintae Sewing Machine Lap Quilt, Half Day

For beginners, and those interested in improving your skills this is an easy project (50” x 50” lap quilt) taught by award winning quilter Joyce Fischer. You will learn tips/tricks for preparation, accuracy, Prairie points, organizational skills and precise piecing to complete your quilt top. For a dramatic finish to any project, you will learn how to make and apply piping. Joyce will supply practice pieces for this technique using the Groovin’ Piping Trimming Tool. This is a fun and confidence class for all. All levels. Materials List: Sewing machine with a 1/4” foot, open toe foot, foot with small grove in the bottom from toe to toe(highly recommended) or zipper foot, slotted needle plate for your machine, thread, marking tools, rotary cutter 45mm, ruler 6”x 12” or longer, 9”square or larger, medium size cutting mat, or a 10” x 16” mat. Mechanical pencil, note paper, fine straight pins, scissors, seam ripper, small iron and pad if you have one. Package of 8, 9” embroidered sewing machines $24, payable to teacher. Feature fabric 1/2 yard, five 1/4 yard pieces of coordinated fabrics, 1 yard for binding and prairie points. Pattern $8.50. Kit (your choice of colors) available for $55, includes fabric (except batt and backing), pattern and 8 embroidered blocks. Groovin’ Piping Trimming Tool Kit(optional).
