Innova longarm teacher Jamie Wallen to share quilting knowledge
at Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza
Joining the faculty for the 25th annual Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza (PNQE), September 13 through 16, is Innova longarm instructor Jamie Wallen. Teaching three days, Jamie will be introducing his internationally known Mystical Quilting series at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
For the last two decades, instructor Jamie Wallen has worked to develop his unique quilting style after purchasing his first longarm machine back in the 90s. Ever since, Jamie’s passion for sharing and teaching his technique with others has grown immensely.
In Jamie’s workshops, students have the opportunity to work on Innova longarm machines provided by PNQE sponsor The Longarm Network. For four hours registrants will learn how to properly use a longarm machine while creating a fun project! All six of his classes are designed for beginners and intermediate skill levels.
Jamie will be presenting his signature series of workshops, Mystical Quilting. The first class on Thursday morning titled Mystical Feathers is dedicated to feather work, exploring all feather forms and learning how to apply feather styles to quilting. On Thursday afternoon students can learn how to add florals, leaves, and vine variations to their quilts in the class, Mystical Florals Leaves and Vines. Jamie’s Friday morning workshop, Mystical Grids, comprises of new designs, specifically his Point-to-Point “Mystical Grid Designs.”
For the rest of his classes, Jamie Wallen will teach Mystical Rulers, Mystical Shapes, and Mystical Borders & Blocks. In the Friday afternoon class, Mystical Rulers, Jamie will demonstrate how to use his favorite rulers to save time on projects. His fifth class Mystical Shapes, taught on Saturday morning, will teach students new variations of the common shapes found on quilts. In Jamie’s last class on Saturday afternoon called Mystical Borders & Blocks, students will learn how to use his tricks to tackle making borders and blocks.
For the last 25 years, the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza has offered students the most unique workshops taught by a variety of talented instructors. The longarm classes especially, give students the chance to try a machine they would otherwise not have access to. Jamie Wallen does an impeccable job of teaching simplified techniques and methods that will help quilters create masterpieces.
