Quiltfest Oasis Returns to Palm Springs

Back by popular demand, Quiltfest Oasis Palm Springs presented by Mancuso Show Management, will take place at the Palm Springs Convention Center, October 8 – 10, 2015, in beautiful Palm Springs, California. This year’s Quiltfest is expected to be every bit as fun and entertaining as last year’s show and more!
Show-goers will be drawn to the hundreds of quilts by artists from around the globe! The international and selected U.S. entries of the 2015 World Quilt Competition, celebrating its 19th year, will once again be the centerpiece of this event. A fabulous Merchants Mall will be filled with vendors offering everything the quilter, textile artist and needle crafter can possibly desire. In addition, show goers will enjoy a marvelous display of special exhibits from well-known quilt and fiber art groups.
This year’s workshops and lectures will be full of fun and innovative techniques for beginners as well as for the more advanced textile artist. Those interested in learning new skills, developing skills already acquired or just wanting to have some quilting fun can benefit from outstanding internationally known instructors. Included on the Quiltfest faculty are international instructors Gloria Loughman from Australia and Jennie Rayment from England and from the U.S. Esterita Austin (NY), Terry Waldron (CA), Laura Wasilowski (IL), Allyson Allen (CA), Bobbie Bergquist (NH), Debora Konchinsky (PA), and Pat Yamin (NY).
The Special Luncheon presentation, “Marvel at Manipulation – It’s All Tucked Up!” on Saturday, October 10, will be presented by Jennie Rayment. Internationally known for her innovative techniques with material, Jennie is totally obsessed with ‘Nipping and Tucking’ – fabric that is! Look, listen and laugh at the hilarious antics of this wacky Brit as she takes you through the latest high jinks and hopefully happy endings of the world’s only Twiddler and Fiddler. Gather round for a dose of girly giggles (men also welcome!) – after all, laughter is the best medicine!
