It’s a Mod, Mod World! Quiltfest Oasis Palm Springs and the Pacific International Quilt Festival are presenting a National Juried & Judged Modern Quilt Competition – Mid-Century Mod.
With over $6,000 in prizes, the competition is sure to draw entries from some of the best Modern Quilters in the country. Pictured below: Shelter by Ann Horton.
The entries will be judged and displayed at Quiltfest Oasis in Palm Springs, October 6-8. Then, the quilts will travel to the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara/Bay area where they will be on exhibit from October 13-16.
Mid-Center Mod entrants will be asked to respond to the competition’s theme:
- Mid-Century Mod emphasizes the look and feel of mid-20th century design. Artists are asked to draw inspiration from this period, reflecting their own exposures or from the work of artists such as Joan Miro, Piet Mondrian, Victor Vasarely, Frank Stella, etc. Where did you find the inspiration for your Mid-Century Mod quilt?
For entry information and details please visit the Modern Quilt Competiton on quiltfest.com.
