World Quilt Florida, presented January 7-9, 2016 in Orlando, offers a fantastic, panoramic view of the world’s take on quilting and textile art. The world-renowned faculty presenting workshops at the show can open the doors to a whole new world of quilting with their innovative designs and techniques. Included among the instructors is Florida native Carole Lyles Shaw.
Carole is a modern quilter and teacher who truly loves her job. Since Carole began quilting in 1989, she has taken a modern and creative approach with her art. She enjoys modern quilting’s allowance for individualism and free expression. Teaching gives Carole the opportunity to open quilters’ eyes to the possibilities in creating modern quilts. Carole is a member of the Board of Directors of The Modern Quilt Guild as well the co-founder of the Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild in Florida where she served as President in 2014. In addition to teaching and lecturing from coast to coast, Carole is currently working on publishing patterns of her quilts.
Carole will present 2 full-day, 9 am to 4 pm, workshops at World Quilt Florida:

Now residing in Northern California, Marjan teaches and exhibits quilts across the globe. Her main artistic influence is nature; most of her designs are organic. Marjan pays close attention to color and texture, “I like to work with color and movement in my pieces. The bright colors I use express my positive outlook on life.” She uses many different surface design techniques such as fabric dyeing, painting, printing, pleating and machine quilting and embroidery.

World Quilt Florida, presented January 7-9, 2016 in Orlando, provides attendees with a three day all access pass to some of the greatest quilt and textile art minds from across the globe. Whether it’s technique, design or motivation, the world-renowned faculty presenting workshops at the show can offer it all. Included among the instructors is Anna Hergert who travels to Orlando from Canada.
Anna Hergert’s passion for the arts has her wearing many hats in today’s quilting world – artist, teacher, lecturer and writer. Teaching fiber arts is an especially important part of Anna’s life; she was the recipient of the CQA/ACC Teacher of the Year Award in 2014. Growing up in Germany, Anna was exposed to fiber art at an early age. Finding she had a deep interest in art and textiles, Anna decided to pursue a career in the arts – first obtaining Diplomas in Art, Design, Contemporary Embroidery as well as Patchwork and Quilting from London City & Guilds, eventually establishing herself as a full time professional artist.
