Still Makin’ Waves, Lecture

     Thursday, February 26, 6:00 pm

Inspired by the textures, lines and colors found in nature, Karen shares her love of curved piecing and collage, and how it led to the creation of her layering/topstitching technique. Wild curves and dramatic angles may look difficult to do, but the process is really easy and quite relaxing! So sit back and let Karen inspire you during this presentation on how to use her “Layered Waves” technique to create Accidental Landscapes™, traditional and abstract quilt designs, and “Wearable Waves.” This Powerpoint presentation includes a mini trunk show of ten to twelve quilts.

BARBARA BROSHOUS - Colorado

Say It with Flowers, Lecture

     Thursday, February 26, 8:00 pm

Barb has a passion for appliqué, especially 3-dimensional floral work. Say it with Flowers is a signature presentation describing her creative process in developing a veritable garden of dimensional fabric flowers, how it all started, and where it has taken her. You will see how she uses dimensional flowers in her quilting, both large and small works. In addition, she uses dimensional flowers for decorative art, wearable pieces, show ribbons, and other craft projects. Walk through the flower garden with Barb and see what you can create with dimensional flowers.

PEPPER CORY - North Carolina

A Starry Love Affair, Lecture

     Friday, February 27, 4:30 pm

Why are we so in love with star quilts? Is it the symbolism, the simplicity, or simply the opportunity to use up all those scraps? Come hear about Pepper’s long-time fascination with Star quilts and see a trunk show of star-theme quilts, both antique from her collection and her recent personal work. Cameras and questions welcome!
