From early hand appliqué pieces, up to her current straight-stitch appliqué series, Karen’s presentation will definitely give you some ideas on where to find inspiration and how to deal with those scary edges encountered along the way.

Traditional to Modern - All in the Family (of Quilting), Lecture

In this informative lecture, Ashley talks about the changing trends in quilting beginning with her mother’s first quilts in the late 1970’s to current projects that are influenced by the traditions of the past and the current climate of modernism. Ashley will discuss how her mother’s and aunt Pat’s generation and her own are different, yet all in the same family. Power point and actual quilts will be part of the presentation.
