Quilters Adventure Tour

Friday, October 16, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (approx.)

Please board the tour bus promptly at 8 am, front of Hall A, Santa Clara Convention Center.

Join us for a day featuring amazing quilts and very special studio tours! We’ll begin at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles with a private tour of Found/Made led by the Museum’s Curator of Collections, Nancy Bavor. Found includes vintage quilts; Made features contemporary quilts often constructed with found materials. After an inspiring Museum visit, board the tour bus for a drive to San Mateo and its wonderful quilt shop. Next, enjoy city highlights as we make our way to San Francisco for lunch, on your own, at Pier 39. After lunch, we will visit artist Joan Schulze in her studio. Joan has gained international prominence as a studio artist, teacher, lecturer and juror, and is highly regarded for her work in collage, quilts and fiber arts. Our final stop, will be Roderick Kiracofe’s quilt barn. His collection of quirky, eccentric quilts from the last half of the twentieth century is worthy of any museum. You’ll return to PIQF filled with new ideas and inspiration for future projects! The Quilters Adventure Tour, led by professional tour guide Barbara Lockwood, includes transportation on a deluxe tour bus and Museum admission. Meals are not included.
