Quilters Adventure Tour

Please board the tour bus promptly at 8:00 am in front of Hall A of the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Join us for a day featuring amazing quilts and sightseeing! The day will begin at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles. There, we will view two new exhibits that will dazzle you. The first is the International TECHstyle Art Biennial, a juried exhibit by artists exploring the expressive potential of fiber media. Also new to the Museum is an artwear installation by Colleen Quen and Corinne Okada Takara who use digitally printed fabric made from the fusionwear sv project. Next, we’ll board the tour bus for the drive to Berkeley - home of the University of California - Berkeley, the 4th Street Market AND internationally renowned quilters Roberta Horton and Mary Mashuta. In Berkeley, we’ll first stop at the 4th Street Market for shopping and brunch/lunch on your own. The Market is an open-air mall featuring an eclectic array of upscale "in a Berkeley-bohemian way" shops and restaurants. After shopping and lunch we’ll drive by the University of California en route to Roberta & Mary’s home and twin studios. Mary says, "Imagine what it’s like to be only seconds away from another fabric stash and an ‘in-house’ critic." Roberta adds, "You’ll see how we’ve adjusted to having two quilters living in one house. We each have our own opinion about what is the right way to do anything and everything." The Quilters Adventure Tour includes transportation on a deluxe tour bus, a professional tour guide and admission to the Museum of Quilts & Textiles. Meals are not included.
